Since 2002, Latinitas has been delivering high quality, culturally relevant STEAM-based curriculum to over 40,000 students across Central Texas and across the nation.

We are a non-profit 501c(3) organization focused on empowering girls to innovate through media and technology. We offer a variety of opportunities for girls to discover their voice, develop media and technology skills and build a solid foundation for their future.

WHAT DOES LATINITAS DO?

We exclusively serve underfunded schools and communities through our flagship programs - Club Latinitas, Camp Latinitas, Code Chica and Code Chica ++, and our one-day Chica Conferences, along with digital literacy programs for adult learners such as Digital Parents and Tech Familia. Students learn about STEM, Media, Technology, Arts, and Culture.

Latinas are underestimated and underrepresented. It’s time for Latinas to know that they are important; they deserve to see their experiences reflected honestly and accurately.

OUR IMPACT:

Only bilingual tech education non-profit in Austin for over two decades.

100% BIPOC Board and predominantly Latinx staff.

Alumni graduate STEM majors at at 50% higher rate than the national average for girls overall.

Latinitas’ Chicas Roboticas, is the first all-female, predominantly Latina, robotics team in the state of Texas.

93% of Latinitas chicas graduate from high school and 81% attend college.

After attending Club Latinitas, 92% of chicas expressed interest in obtaining a job in the STEM field.

According to survey data from the inaugural cohort of Code Chica ++, 100% of students reported having a great experience in the program, rated their instructor as great, and learned about new jobs and professions during the program.
